The Cathedral/St. Xavier Conference of St. Vincent de Paul

For more than 140 years, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul has quietly cared for those in need throughout Greater Cincinnati. And while some people say there are no longer miracles in the world, the volunteers and staff of St. Vincent de Paul would disagree. Miracles happen every day – in the happiness shared by a mother and her children on Christmas morning, or the hug of gratitude offered by someone who has nothing else to give.

The cathedral and St. Francis Xavier are a twinning conference of St. Vincent de Paul and they help some of the neediest in the downtown and Over-the-Rhine neighborhoods. The conference does in-home visits every Saturday morning. They meet at the cathedral at 9:00am in the Undercroft South (take the elevator down and it’s the first meeting space you come to). The conference provides emergency assistance for help with rent, utilities, groceries, clothing and furniture.

The need is great and they could use your help. If you would like to lend a helping hand by volunteering or if you just want to find out more about St. Vincent de Paul please stop in to see them any Saturday morning at 9:00am. You do not have to commit to helping on every Saturday – whatever your schedule allows would be greatly appreciated.

And if you can share any of your treasure with the conference they are always able to find a family in need who can use your help. You can donate online by using the link below.
